    The Discipline of Anatomy and Histology is an internationally recognised and respected education and research institution. The Discipline offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and carries out extensive biomedical research

    We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to contribute significantly to the teaching of Histology and Anatomical Imaging. You will be expected to have recent experience in teaching state of the art aspects of some combination of histology; histochemistry; microscopy and/or anatomical imaging. The ability to contribute to the teaching of, either Developmental Biology, Neuro-anatomy, Human Anatomy (specifically Head & Neck or Visceral Anatomy), or Comparative Anatomy would also be very attractive. You will be required to teach at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to Medical, Dental, Medical Science and Science students.

    You will also have the opportunity to pursue independent research in association with one of our established research groups. The Disciplines areas of research excellence include: Cell and Developmental biology, Reproductive biology, Neuroscience, and Physical Anthropology. Applicants will be expected to hold a PhD or equivalent qualification, to have proven teaching and research ability, they must also show the potential to develop an on-going and active research program within the Discipline.

    To succeed in this role you will have:

    ·an undergraduate degree with Hons or equivalent in a biological or medical science plus a PhD in a research field consonant with the research activities and teaching activities required by the position

    ·demonstrated experience in teaching some combination of histology, histochemistry microscopy or anatomical imaging

    ·demonstrated experience in student assessment at the tertiary level

    ·demonstrated experience in research student supervision (either Hons, Masters or PhD)

    ·evidence of a research career consonant with the interests of the Discipline and clear evidence of engagement with a laboratory in the Discipline or School of Medical Sciences that would facilitate research productivity; evidence of a strong record of research and publications

    ·evidence of the ability and willingness to contribute to professional and community collaboration, academic administration and a collegial approach to teaching and learning

    ·excellent oral and written communication skills
