Post-doctoral Research Officer
The Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) is one of Australia’s premier biomedical research Institutes and is situated at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. It houses 32
research groups in the Divisions of Computational Biology and Genomics, Chemical and Structural Biology, Molecular Cell Biology, and Molecular Genetics and Development.
Our emphasis is on quality
basic research and its translation into medical and biotechnological outcomes.
The IMB is equipped with state-of-the-art research infrastructure including mouse and zebrafish facilities, advanced imaging, genome-wide shRNA expression libraries, microarray, advanced bioinformatics, proteomics, and histology, supporting all aspects of contemporary molecular genetics and cell biology research. Details of the research interests of the Institute may be accessed on the Institute’s website at:
http://www.imb.uq.edu.auThe successful appointee will join a team investigating the role of hedgehog signalling in embryonic development and disease (
laboratoy). They will be responsible for conducting studies to analyse the contribution of hedgehog signalling to skeletal development, and the role of the primary cilium in regulating signalling levels. The appointee will conduct independent research under the guidance of
Assoc. Prof. Carol Wicking. They will also be expected to work collaboratively with other research staff and students in the laboratory.
The applicant should possess a PhD in developmental biology, cell biology or an equivalent area. They should have a track record of publication in a relevant scientific field. They should also have demonstrated high level written, oral and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with others.
To discuss the role contact Assoc Prof. Carol Wicking via email: c.wicking@imb.uq.edu.au
